A fabulous 19th century solid wood French drafting table or architect's desk, circa 1870s. This remarkable table was custom made by a talented craftsmen in the South of France for a wealthy architect or draftsman. Having an oak base with a pine work surface and oak trim this beautiful table features a fully adjustable top that can be used for standing or sitting, with a drafting stool or chair. The tilted surface brings the back of the table towards the artist, minimizing reach and back aches. When fully lowered, the large work surface can be used as a dining table if needed. It's structurally sound and very sturdy with a wonderful patina and fresh French polish.
