The charming characters created by Inomata Mutsumi, who served as character designer and animation director, were the talk of the town and became one of the most popular Inomata works to this day. The director is Kunihiko Yuyama, and the music is by Shiro Sagisu of the "Evangelion" series. The quality of the animation, in which many up-and-coming young animators participated, was highly acclaimed, and despite being an OVA, it became a hit that was later released in theaters. The character of Yoko Asagiri, who fights in armor in an alternate dimensional world she has wandered into, is said to be the originator of the "fighting pretty girl" concept that continues to this day.
