Description:
[Herbert von Karajan, a great conductor who reigned over the classical music world in the 20th century with his outstanding musicality and charisma. From the "Karajan's Legacy" series, which Karajan worked on energetically during the last years of his life in the 1980s, this is the New Year's Eve concert held on December 31, 1988 at his home base, the Berlin Philharmonie. In the main professional performance of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto, Karajan used the young prodigy pianist Kyshyn, who was only 17 years old at the time, and never loosened the reins on him even though he was a newcomer. It is easy to imagine that he had high expectations for the young pianist as a promising performer, and that he wanted to entrust him to the next generation. Kyshyn's performance was as if he was responding to Karajan's wishes, and he gave a performance of uncanny intensity. This is an unforgettable record of the farewell performance by the great master Karajan to the Berlin audience. Performed by Evgeny Kyshyn (p/[2]), Herbert von Karajan (conductor), Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, recorded live at the Philharmonie, Berlin, December 31, 1988 *Upconverted from LD master to Blu-ray Disc. The sound source is remastered by b-sharp (planned).
