The 18th century Italian hand-carved fragment originally came from a candlestick from a historical Italian church. It is mounted with the agate coral which is a rare fossilized mineral known for its unique formation that can take place over 20 million years. It is a natural gemstone that is created when coral is gradually replaced with agate and is Florida's state stone. Many agate coral specimens have a naturally forming crystalized druzy which creates a lovely sparkle to the mineral.

Together, the elements create a sculptural work of organic and historic significance.
