Iconic, bold, and full of heart.
Protect the Dolls is a saying that has been around since the 60s. The term "dolls" was coined by Black and Latina trans women in the underground ballroom scene (1960s-80s) to affirm their beauty, worth, and sisterhood.. Pedro has been photographed wearing a shirt with this phrase, in support of his trans sister and the trans community. It has become a viral symbol of resistance against rising global violence and legislative attacks on trans people. I wanted to not only draw one of my fave celebrities, but also to commemmorate a moment that shows his strong stance for human rights.
