This is a single fine steel spur .
Benjamin Latchford describes this design as a "Ladies' Spike Sewarrow Spur" in his 1883 book "The Loriner"
He also lists gents' Sewarrow spurs - the name would seem to describe a spur in which each arm ends in a divided circular loop.
The neck of the spur has a spring loaded sleeve. When this is pushed back a small sharp spike protrudes.
