The Shimano XTR FD-M900 front derailleur features an aluminum clamp and aluminum connectors to a chrome-plated chain guide cage. The design is typical of the M900 series, with a silver-blue anodized derailleur and matte silver aluminum parts.

The chain guide is designed to be as stiff as possible, allowing for more direct shifting. The cage can be opened with a screw, making it possible to mount the derailleur without opening the chain. The FD-M900 is compatible with 6-, 7-, and 8-speed cassettes (there were no more gears available at the time) and 3-speed chainrings up front. The derailleur is equipped with an adjustable return spring, which allows the cable tension to be adjusted from the large to the small chainring.

The FD-M900 front derailleur was offered in both a "top-pull" and "down-pull" version. We offer a 31.8 mm clamp size.
