The TR-5G Insulated Standoff can be used to install Protectowire on or above coal conveyors or from other applicable mechanical structures. The standoffs may be installed through holes in covers or brackets by means of the 1/4″-20 locknuts provided. In another type of installation, the standoffs may be connected to threaded rods suspended from the ceiling by means of coupling nuts (not provided). Since this fastener does not grasp the detector tightly, it is necessary to use other fasteners, such as WAW Clips, to place sufficient tension on the Protectowire to prevent it from drooping. This ensures a secure and reliable installation, allowing for optimal performance and detection of heat anomalies in high-temperature environments.
