Zimmermann re-recorded Beethoven's complete piano concertos for the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth in 2020 for the first time in almost 30 years! The old recording was made with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by the maestro Leonard Bernstein, and since Bernstein died after recording the first and second concertos, Zimmermann himself conducted these two concertos as well, completing the complete cycle, which has earned him high reputation and popularity among his many recordings.
