This listing is for a Medium Campo del Cielo Meteorite Specimen, an authentic fragment from one of Earth's most significant and widely studied meteorite impacts. Each specimen is a solid, natural piece of extraterrestrial iron-nickel, showcasing the metallic structure, texture, and weight that make these fragments so prized among collectors.
The Campo del Cielo (Spanish for “Field of the Sky”) meteorite fall occurred over 4,000 years ago in the Gran Chaco region of Argentina. These meteorites, discovered and documented in 1576, are believed to have broken from a larger body during its fiery descent through Earth's atmosphere, resulting in a wide scatter field of impact craters and metallic fragments.
Each piece has been carefully selected for its size, integrity and metallic character. The medium size makes it ideal for individual display, educational use, or adding to a scientific or natural history collection.
An optional floating cube display is available—perfect for showcasing the specimen suspended mid-air in a transparent frame, allowing 360° viewing without obstruction.
