Koch Chemie ShineSpeedPolish is the finishing polish from the Koch Chemie The Finisher line, engineered to refine the surface after a heavy-cut step and leave paint with maximum gloss, no holograms and no haze. Developed in the Koch Chemie laboratories in Unna, Germany, ShineSpeedPolish uses a finer abrasive grade that removes the micro-marring left by cutting compounds while bringing out the depth and reflectivity that defines a corrected paint surface.
Where a heavy-cut compound like PowerSpeedPolish does the work of removing defects, ShineSpeedPolish does the work of making the paint look right. The German formulation finishes down to a near-mirror surface on most paints, ready for ceramic coating, sealant or wax application. Use it as the second stage of a two-step correction, or as a one-step polish on already-corrected paint to refresh the finish before applying HydroBoost or another last-step product.
As the second step after PowerSpeedPolish:
As a one-step polish on light defects:
Pro tip: after polishing, prep the paint with an IPA wipe-down or panel-prep product before applying ceramic coating, sealant or HydroBoost. This removes polish oils that would otherwise prevent proper bonding.
Important: ShineSpeedPolish is a finishing polish, not a cutting compound. For real defects (1500-grit scratches, deep swirls, oxidation), start with PowerSpeedPolish first. Trying to remove heavy defects with ShineSpeedPolish alone will overwork the polish and produce inferior results.
What is the difference between ShineSpeedPolish and PowerSpeedPolish?
ShineSpeedPolish is the finishing stage that refines the surface and brings out gloss. PowerSpeedPolish is the heavy-cut stage that removes defects. The two products are designed to work as a two-step correction system: PowerSpeedPolish first to remove damage, ShineSpeedPolish second to finalize the surface.
Can I use ShineSpeedPolish alone without PowerSpeedPolish?
For light defects such as minor swirl marks, water spotting and light oxidation, yes. ShineSpeedPolish on a finishing pad can correct light damage and leave the surface ready for last-step protection. For heavier defects you need to start with PowerSpeedPolish first.
Will ShineSpeedPolish leave holograms?
No, when used correctly. ShineSpeedPolish is specifically formulated to finish down without leaving the rotary swirl pattern that affects amateur correction work. Use light pressure, appropriate speed and a clean finishing pad for best results.
Is ShineSpeedPolish safe on ceramic coatings?
No. Like all polishes, ShineSpeedPolish removes ceramic coatings, sealants and wax during use. After polishing you need to reapply your last-step protection.
What pad should I use with ShineSpeedPolish?
A finishing foam pad is the standard choice. Soft microfiber finishing pads also work and can provide slightly more cut for light defects. Avoid aggressive cutting pads with ShineSpeedPolish because the combination would cause more micro-marring than the polish can remove.
Where is ShineSpeedPolish made?
Koch Chemie ShineSpeedPolish is formulated and bottled in Germany by Koch Chemie GmbH at their headquarters in Unna. The Rag Company Europe is an authorised dealer of the Koch Chemie The Finisher line for Europe.
